Christmas Tree Festival
If you missed it (5th December) don't worry the trees stayed until after Christmas, and the church was open every Sunday morning and on many weekdays leading up to Christmas with local schools and others using the church for their carol services. Take a look at a few of the images
Friends of Kent Churches Bicycle Ride - UPDATE
Lynda Watton has received a letter from the Treasurer, Ronald Niblett, thanking her for the £187 raised on 12 September at the above event.
He says ‘ I am very grateful to you for your energy and dedication to this cause; would you please pass on my thanks to Ian? Thanks to you also of course for doing the job of Local Organizer.’
A cheque was enclosed for £93.50, which is GMC’s share of the total amount that we raised.
HARVEST SUPPER WHO PLANNED IT?
Trudy and I were looking forward to a weekend break we had booked with a 50’s 60’s music theme. (reminds me of my degenerate past!) I had just finished all the major maintenance on our caravan ,(that’s what I thought) packed everything, and we were ready to go, later than desired, but not too late.
Well the caravan brakes were not safe to travel with, no matter how well adjusted, and if that didn’t convince us that we should not go, the ‘Satnav’ froze to ensure that we would not find our way as by then it was dark and late, so we would just have to stay at home.
Good news! We can go to the Harvest Supper.
What a truly fantastic evening, not with thoughts of the past, but with friends of the present. All of whom I think enjoyed the meal and family entertainment as much as I did. May we say thank you to those who worked so hard to give us such a night of joy, with a menu catering for all tastes and a quality not to be sniffed at. Now not being a reporter or critic I have difficulty in covering the entertainment which followed but we were treated to a talent show extraordinaire. Has GMC got talent?
YES!
We had solo singers, a duet, a monologue, comedians, thought provoking and humorous sketches, a guitar soloist, all of which were interspersed with TV style advertisements (which were for the good of man), and finishing with the opportunity to sing along with the last performer of the evening.
It must be noted that not one of our talented performers were discouraged by the electronics having hiccups (again).

What a happy family Harvest weekend we enjoyed. GMC certainly does have talent in more ways than one. We had an excellent three-course meal for just £3. Mark had a day’s leave to make the soup etc., then he, his family from Norfolk and Sally (around the football) worked all day.
The concert was great fun, everyone throwing themselves into performing with not a nerve in sight – a tribute to the real family atmosphere.
Thank you Mark and Sally for all the planning and organisation, both for Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

THANK YOU
Thank you to all those who have kindly donated old greetings cards over the years in order to make "new" cards. These are exchanged for a donation to The Children's Society, and in this year alone £700.00 has been raised in this way.
Since 1997 approximately 46,850 cards have been made and £7,152 donated to The Children's Society.
If you have any old cards would you please pass them on to Lucy Peatfield or Daphne Tremain so that this work can continue.
Thank you.
